Description
This product came about when my own Aloe plant outgrew its planter, and badly needed trimming and repotting. I harvested the Aloe for the first batch myself, and combined it into a simple formula with Allantoin for a purely healing gel, and it was wayyyyy too basic. This is the improved formula, a soft milky lotion with a light floral scent that truly heals skin, fast! It contains a majority percentage of Aloe Vera, with Jojoba and Organic Shea Butter for vitamin-rich emolliency to nourish and protect the skin.
Jojoba, which I think of as the Queen of Oils, profoundly nourishes the skin while absorbing quickly and being virtually immune to rancidity/oxidation. This is due to its chemical make-up including a high percentage of naturally occurring vitamin E. Jojoba has well documented anti-inflammatory, anti-acne, anti-oxidant effects.
Organic Shea Butter protects against dry, irritated skin and delivers the antioxidant vitamins A and E. One study found Shea Butter to be more effective for eczema than commonly prescribed petroleum products, and it is a safe alternative to nut butters for those with nut allergies.
Aloe Vera is known for its anti-inflammatory, skin protection, anti-bacterial, anti viral, antiseptic, and wound healing properties.
Allantoin is a healing compound found naturally in Comfrey plants that facilitates multiple aspects of wound healing.
Zinc Oxide is widely used for its protective, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and wound healing properties.
To these potent compounds I add organic glycerin for added hydration, hyaluronic acid for plumping moisturization, and essential oils of Palmarosa, Frankincense and Vetiver.
